Our Sunday School is a vital part of the parish’s mission to nurture and strengthen the faith of our youngest members. We provide a caring, inclusive, and engaging environment where children learn about God’s love, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the rich traditions of the Catholic faith.
Sunday School classes are conducted in three mediums—Sinhala, English, and Tamil—following the locally approved syllabus taught in schools. This ensures consistency with diocesan and national religious education standards.
Students actively participate in diocesan examinations and regularly take part in a wide range of faith-based and creative activities, including Bible quizzes, speech and essay competitions, singing, art, and decoration competitions, held annually at diocesan and parish levels.
An Annual Prize Giving Ceremony is held each year to recognise and celebrate the academic, spiritual, and creative achievements of our students, encouraging them to grow further in faith and excellence.
Sunday School classes are held every Sunday after the 7:30 AM Mass. Children are grouped by age and grade level to ensure appropriate instruction:
Our Sunday School program also includes preparation for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
New students are welcome to join at any time during the year. Registration forms are available at the church office or after Sunday Mass. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their children's faith formation.
